Commemoration

The IICC is the national commemoration site for the fallen from all of Israel´s Intelligence organizations, including Israel Defense Intelligence (IDI), including those who served in special combat units, the Israel Security Agency (ISA, also Shabak or Shin Bet), the Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (Mossad) and Nativ, a once-clandestine organization that aided in the rescue of Jewish communities in peril, namely from the former Soviet Union. All expenses related to commemoration are covered by the Government of Israel.

The lives and careers of more than 700 fallen warriors from the Intelligence community are documented in albums, films and registers prepared by their families, in cooperation with the Center. Most of their names are engraved on the walls of the memorial labyrinth in the Center´s courtyard, however, for many, their names and stories remain undisclosed.

The Center manages more than 20 commemorative foundations, which provide scholarships, including grants for active warriors in elite units in the IDF, the Mossad and the ISA, who take a break during their active service to pursue academic studies.Throughout the year, events are held with bereaved family members, including memorial services, pre-holiday gatherings, cultural events, lectures and tours. Cultivating relationships with the families of the fallen is one of the highest priorities of the Centers´ members.
